What is a Solar Carport?

A solar carport is a purpose-built canopy that supports solar PV modules while providing shelter for vehicles and visitors. Because the structure sits above existing parking, it creates a new energy-producing surface without taking additional land or roof space. Our carports are designed to integrate seamlessly with EV charging, LED lighting and battery storage where required, creating a future-ready energy and mobility hub with a visible sustainability impact.

What’s Included

Every C2E carport project includes a detailed feasibility assessment and site survey, bespoke steel or aluminium structure design, Tier-1 PV modules with matched inverters, and full grid connection management including G99 and DNO liaison. Where required we integrate EV chargers, smart LED lighting and monitoring. Handover includes full O&M documentation and certification (MCS, CAD drawings and test certificates), with ongoing maintenance and performance monitoring available.

Case Study: One Leisure Centre, St Ives

For Huntingdonshire District Council we delivered a 257.04 kWp carport solution generating 236,549 kWh per year, providing 27.5% of the site’s electrical load and saving approximately 35 tonnes of CO₂ annually. The installation comprised 504 Q CELLS 510 Wp modules, dual Solis 100K inverters and a dual-array steel structure at a six-degree tilt. Delivered over six months, the project met Net Zero, budget and performance targets while maintaining uninterrupted site operation.
